January 29, 2024 – This year has not been kind to the Santa Fe Saints. They began this season hot, winning their first four games. January 2024 has been as chilly as a Gainesville winter evening.
The Saints entered their Saturday contest against the St. Petersburg College Titans riding a five-game losing streak. It was time for the Saints to pull together and push past their misfortune.
The Saints led after the first half, hopeful they would earn their first conference win of the season. The second half saw several lead changes until the end of regulation play when both teams were determined to emerge victorious.
Overtime was not enough time for either team to edge past the other. The Titans rallied in double overtime, winning 84-78.
The 8-12 Saints host the Miami Dade College Sharks on Jan. 31 at 7 p.m.
