SF Fine Arts Events This Week: Valentine’s Swing Dance and Alexander Hanson Exhibit

February 6, 2024 – Benefiting from strong community backing, Santa Fe College’s Fine Arts and Entertainment Technology program is expanding its reach on local, national and international levels. This week’s offerings showcase the program’s commitment.

Valentine’s Swing Dance

Friends, sweethearts and music lovers can twirl the night away at the annual Santa Fe College Valentine’s Swing Dance beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 in the lobby of the Jackson N. Sasser Fine Arts Hall at the Northwest Campus, 3000 NW 83 Street, Gainesville. The semi-formal event will include light appetizers and free swing dance instruction.

Alexander Hanson Exhibit

The Santa Fe College Gallery showcases the talents of Alexander Hanson until March 15. Hanson’s work often focuses on the use of objects, constructed and found, to ask pointed questions. He will be creating a site-specific installation and spending a week on campus as a visiting artist-in-residency.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. You can find the Santa Fe College Gallery in Building M, Room 147, on the Northwest Campus at 3000 NW 83 Street in Gainesville.
