SF Softball: Saints Find Victory After Early Setback

February 26, 2024 – The Saints went to Sanford over the weekend to participate in the Courtney Miller Invitational. Their opening game pitted them against the Gulf Coast State College Commodores. Initially trailing 5-0, the Saints found their rhythm in the third inning, igniting their bats and steadily scoring in the subsequent innings. Despite their spirited comeback, they fell just short, losing 7-5.

In their second game of the day, the Saints clashed with Chipola College in a classic softball showdown. The game was a hard-fought battle, showcasing strong defensive plays and timely hitting. The Saints’ perseverance paid off as they clinched the 4-3 victory.

“We had a great team comeback,” Saints Head Coach Savanah Webster said. “It was good to see grit from the kids in game two and overcome a lot of adversity. Mallory Forrester came up big in a big moment for us, which was great to see.”

The Saints will face the Daytona State College Falcons at home on Tuesday, Feb. 27 in a doubleheader. The first pitch is set for 1 p.m.
