Reception Today for Lucinda Dickens Hawksley, Descendant of Charles Dickens

April 9, 2024 – Faculty and staff are invited to a reception this afternoon, April 9, for Lucinda Dickens Hawksley, great-great-great granddaughter of Charles Dickens. The reception will be from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. in the President’s Lobby in Building F on the Northwest Campus.

Hawksley is an author, art historian, public speaker and broadcaster specializing in art, history and social history from the 19th and 20th centuries. She also is an award-winning travel writer with a love of the environment.

Hawksley was invited by Melissa Flanagan, faculty chair for the English Department. Prior to the reception, Hawksley, a longtime friend of the College, will visit a literature class and give a general lecture to invited guests, among other activities.
