May 6, 2024 – The Santa Fe Saints’ 2023-24 season ended at the hands of the Florida Southwestern State College Buccaneers this weekend. The Saints earned a sixth seed in the FCSAA DI Baseball Championships while the Buccaneers entered the tournament as the third seed.
The three-game series took place in Fort Myers. However, the Buccaneers only needed two games to finish the Saints off. The Buccaneers defeated the Saints 8-1 and 3-2.
While Florida Southwestern moved on in the tournament, the Saints returned home to rest and reflect on the past season. This year marks the second in a row that the Saints have made it to post-season play. It also marks the third year out of the last four that the Johnny Wiggs-led Saints have finished the season by earning a bid to the FSCAA State and Region VIII Tournament.
