Wellbeing at Santa Fe

The start of a new school year is a time of new beginnings. If you’re resolving to handle your stress better this year and to take better care of yourself, take advantage of free support for your efforts right here on campus.

Meditation Classes

These are drop-in sessions that one can come to anytime. They are open to students, staff and faculty. They’re free.

Sessions taught by Prof. Greg Jones:

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8 a.m. in the library room Y-239
  • Monday and Friday at noon in S-220
  • Tuesday and Thursday at 4 p.m. in the Gym, room V-16 (right before the free yoga classes that start at 5 p.m.)

Pat Breslin will also be having sessions twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday, at 2 p.m. in S-220

 Each session will introduce what Mindfulness Meditation is, have a short trial time, and then time for question and answer. For more information, please go online email Greg at greg.a.jones@sfcollege.edu.

Free yoga classes Tuesdays and Thursdays

Fall semester yoga classes with Shenna Benarte will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays in V-16 from 5-6:30 p.m. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and bring a mat or towel. For more information, email Shenna at fengshui216@hotmail.com.

Free dance exercise classes Mondays and Wednesdays

Alora Haynes, chair of the Fine Arts Department, is continuing to offer her dance exercise classes this fall, 4:40 to 5:20 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in E-109. They’re open to everyone.
