All members of the college community are invited to this month’s meeting of the YouTube Speaker Series.
The meeting will take place this Friday, September 10 at 2 p.m. in P-160. Robert Perkinson, Professor of American Studies at the University of Hawaii, will be discussing his new book “Texas Tough: The Rise of America’s Prison Empire”. An open exchange on this important topic follows the talk.
The series, which started last spring, uses the magic of the internet to bring prominent intellectuals, commentators, scholars and authors to campus for a conference on important current affairs. The events provide a relaxed atmosphere to engage in a meaningful discourse on the important matters of today.
The YouTube Speaker Series is ongoing throughout the fall with meetings during the second Friday of every month.
