COLENA LAZAR NAMED NJCAA AND FCSAA PITCHER OF THE WEEK
NJCAA and FCSAA Softball Pitcher of the Week – (March 21-27) Colena Lazar, Santa Fe Sophomore – Dade City, Fla.
Santa Fe College’s Colena Lazar is this week’s NJCAA and FCSAA Softball Pitcher of the Week. Lazar, a sophomore, from Dade City, Fla., went 5-0 with a 1.15 ERA (0.682 WHIP) in six games against Mid-Florida Conference competition. She went the distance in each of her five victories, including bookend shutouts against Florida State College (game one, March 22) and Central Florida (game two, March 26) that brought her career total to a school-record 21.
For the week, Lazar allowed eight runs (six earned) and 16 hits while striking out 41 in 36.2 innings. This is her second NJCAA Pitcher of the Week award this season and third FCSAA honor in 2011.
