Altrusa International of Gainesville is sponsoring their annual Read-In for Literacy on Tuesday, April 26 at public elementary schools in Alachua County.
That morning, every kindergarten, first and second-grade classroom will be provided with a guest reader who will read aloud for the children’s enjoyment and talk about the importance of reading in his or her life.
Times may vary slightly from school to school (usually beginning at 8:30 a.m.), but the activity requires no more than one hour of your time.
Typically, Santa Fe volunteers read at nearby Hidden Oak Elementary, but you are welcome to volunteer at any elementary school.
