Final Concert of the Year: “Sing into Spring” April 21

This will be the final concert of the semester featuring the Santa Fe Singers accompanied by the Santa Fe Jazz Combo and the Santa Fe Dancers. In addition to several traditional folk tunes and spirituals, the contemporary portion of the program opens with selections from “Phantom of the Opera.”

Songs from the popular Glee series will follow; “Dream a Little Dream” for the women and “Sweet Caroline” for the men. Individual popular numbers such as “Hey, Soul Sister” by Taylor Mains and a Michael Buble song entitled, “Haven’t Met You Yet,” by Patrick McCann will keep you glued to your seats!

To honor the 20th anniversery of John Lennon’s death, the Singers will perform two Beatles songs. Kevin Jones will solo in the beautiful “Yesterday.” The Vocal Jazz Group will perform two Swing tunes ending with the favorite “At Last” accompanied by the Jazz Combo. The evening will round out with two wwing songs accompanied by the Jazz combo and a nod once more to the Glee series with the ever popular “Over the Rainbow.”

Special seating will be included for hearing impaired, signed by Santa Fe’s own Joan Freese, a  talented signing student and chorus member.

Bring your family, young and old, there is something for everyone! The concert is free and open to all, starting 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21 in the Building E Auditorium at the Northwest campus, 3000 NW 83rd St., Gainesville.
