LAZAR NAMED ALL-STATE AND ALL-MFC, 11 OTHERS ALL-MFC
Gainesville, FL – Sophomore pitcher Colena Lazar headlined a group of 12 Santa Fe Fastpitch players that were recently selected to FCSAA All-State and All Mid-Florida Conference teams. Coach Chris Ahern also won her seventh consecutive MFC Coach of the Year award.
In addition to her All-State and All-MFC honors, Lazar was named the MFC Pitcher of the Year for the second consecutive season after leading the state in strikeouts (307) and wins (30).
First Team: Sophomore 3B Gia Tomossone (.366 BA, 10 HR, 17 2B, 47 RBI), sophomore catcher Ashley Curry (.340 BA, 11 2B, 35 RBI), freshman OF Bianca Torres (.329 BA, 20 R, 5 RBI) and Colena Lazar (30-7, 0.98 ERA, 307 K, 243 IP)
Second Team: Sophomore 2B Jaimee Vega (.336 BA, 12 2B, 2 HR, 21 RBI), freshman SS Ashley Holton (.313 BA, 10 2B, 7 HR, 23 RBI), sophomore OF Jasmine Warren (.333 BA, 5 2B, 10 RBI, 22 SB) and freshman Alayia Miller (.347 BA, 4 2B, 5 HR, 25 RBI)
Honorable Mention: Sophomore catcher Venica Brown (.176 BA, 7 RBI), freshman OF Brittney Mayhill (.286 BA, 2 RBI), freshman 1B Erika Garcia (.294 BA, 7 2B, 10 HR, 40 RBI) and sophomore OF Colesa Lazar (.241 BA, 3 2B, 11 RBI)
