The Gainesville Harvest food pantry at Santa Fe has moved to a new location in H-104, near the Gator Den on the south side of campus near the Health Sciences Annex.
The new hours are 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. on Mondays only; help get the word out! It will be closed on Memorial Day and Independence Day.
“It’s an out of the way place, so students don’t typically stumble upon it, but it does give us more room for the fresh breads and sweets we receive each week,” explains Sarah Stone.
Anyone in the SF community is eligible to pick up fresh goods donated by generous businesses such as Publix, UpperCrust, and Starbucks. Persons who qualify as having “urgent need” may have access to nonperishable goods in the pantry. (Anyone can ask us about the process of qualifying when they come to the pantry.)
“With our recent move, and now, with the lighter summer sessions, we are concerned we will not have enough takers and we might have to throw away otherwise good food, so we really need everyone’s help in getting the word out,” Stone says.
