The Saints (11-2) trailed at the halftime break 40-34 but used a stifling defensive effort in the second half to rally, holding the Indians (13-1) to just 24 points over the final 20 minutes to force overtime.

Santa Fe out scored Chipola 16-10 in overtime to earn the victory. The difference in the game came at the free throw line where SF out scored the Indians 34-14 and shot 79%.

Kevin Harden led the scoring attack for Santa Fe netting 21 points on 9-of-20 shooting. Altavious Carter finished with 15 points and nine rebounds, Keshaun Hamilton had 10 points, all on free throws to go with nine rebounds and Brian Holmes scored 16.

“This was a good win for our team,” said SF Coach Chris Mowry. “We did a nice job bouncing back from the loss to St. Pete and showed a lot of resiliency fighting back in the second half tonight against a very good Chipola squad.”

The Saints continue in the Polk Classic on Sunday when they face off against Tampa Swish at 3:00 PM.
