Baseball (2-1 on the week, 32-9 overall, 14-3 MFC) The Santa Fe Saints continued to roll along on Monday, April 2, upending the Seminole State College Raiders 11-5 behind a six RBI day from first baseman Caleb Denmark.

The momentum and 11 game winning streak was cut short on Wednesday when SF fell behind 6-0 early on and never mounted rally, dropping a 7-3 decision to the Lake Sumter CC Lakers.

On Friday in a match-up between the top two teams in the MFC, the Saints prevailed 5-1 over College of Central Florida behind a complete game performance from starter Brad Markey.  Santa Fe now has a three game lead over the Patriots with seven to play.

SF travels to Daytona on Monday, April 9 for a conference game against the Falcons at 3 p.m.

Fastpitch (2-3 on the week, 25-21 overall, 12-6 MFC) The Santa Fe Saints were powered to a 3-1 game one victory over Daytona State College on Tuesday afternoon, getting homers from Bianca Torres and Kimberly Booker to outpace the Falcons 3-1.  The SF bats stalled in game two as DSC pulled away for a 6-0 win to earn a split.

On Saturday, April 7 SF finished off a win over Seminole State College dating back to March 8 when the two teams were forced to halt play due to darkness with SF up 7-5 in the seventh inning.  The Saints held on for a 7-5 victory.

Seminole bounced back in the double header, winning both games 3-2 and 5-4.  Santa Fe led going in to the fifth inning of both games but couldn’t hold on in either contest.

Cierra Miller was named FCSAA Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday, April 3 for her efforts during the week of March 26-April 1.
