MARKEY NAMED FCSAA PITCHER OF THE WEEK – APRIL 2-8
Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe College’s Brad Markey is this week’s FCSAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Markey, a sophomore from Bel Air, Md., was the winning pitcher in Santa Fe’s 5-1 win over Central Florida on April 6, a battle between the top two teams in the Mid-Florida Conference.
Markey won his eighth game of the season with a complete-game four-hitter. The Patriots lone run was unearned and Markey allowed only two walks while striking out nine.
For the season Markey is 8-3 with a 1.48 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 73 innings. He has four complete games on the year and his 1.48 ERA is second best in the state.
