SF FASTPITCH – 5/2/2012
Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints (35-25) finished just short of a berth in the NJCAA national tournament but a successful run to the Atlantic District finals earned two SF players a spot on the FCSAA All-Tournament team.
First baseman Karla Claudio led all Santa Fe hitters, batting .500 (8-for-16) with two homeruns, five RBI, two doubles and seven walks, three of them intentional. Her best game came against Miami Dade where she went 3-for-4 with a homerun, double, three runs scored and two RBI.
Outfielder Brittney Mayhill hit .333 (6-for-18) with a homerun, four RBI and three runs scored. Her homerun, the first of her career at any level, came against Seminole State College on Sunday morning and helped force a decisive game two against the Raiders.
