SF WOMEN’S BASKETBALL – 11/27/2012
Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe College’s Paulina Zaveckaite is this week’s NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Zaveckaite, a sophomore from Gainesville, Fla., averaged 17.0 points and 17.0 rebounds in two games during the voting period.
Despite her team coming up short in games against a pair of nationally-ranked opponents, Zaveckaite recorded double-doubles in games against No. 5 Northwest Florida State and No. 13 Chipola. Against Northwest Florida State on November 23, she tallied 21 points and 20 rebounds. The next day against Chipola, she finished with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
For the week, Zaveckaite shot 61.9 percent (13-of-21) from the floor and 72.7 percent (8-of-11) from the free throw line.
