SF MEN’S BASKETBALL
Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe College’s Bobby Hunter is this week’s NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Hunter, a sophomore from Reno, Nev., averaged 29.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals in two games during the voting period.
Hunter’s efforts helped the Saints to wins against Georgia Highlands (January 3) and St. Petersburg (January 5). Against Georgia Highlands, he poured in 33 points on 11-of-18 shooting and also added five rebounds, five assists and four steals. Two days later, he tallied 26 points in the win over St. Petersburg, doing a large portion of his damage at the foul line, where he was 12-of-16. He also recorded six rebounds, five assists and two steals.
For the week, Hunter shot 47.2 percent (17-of-36) from the floor, 50.0 percent (5-of-10) from the three-point line and 80.0 percent (20-of-25) from the free throw line.
