Women’s Basketball Hosts Daytona January 9 at 7:30 PM

SF WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Gainesville, FL – The FCSAA #7 Santa Fe Saints will look to even up their Mid-Florida Conference record at 1-1 when the Falcons of Daytona State College visit Gainesville on Wednesday, January 9 for a 7:30 PM tip-off.  Buchholz High School and Santa Fe High School varsity will battle at 5:30 PM in the SF Gym.

The Saints (12-7, 0-1 MFC) boast two of the top players in the country in sophomore forward Paulina Zaveckaite and sophomore guard Tiara Thompson.  Zaveckaite leads the nation in rebounding at 15.3 per game and is scoring 12.7 points per contest.  Thompson is 22nd in the nation in scoring at 17.2 points per game.

Daytona enters their first conference game of the season with an 8-8 overall record and are led by the nation’s third leading scorer Abigail Asoro (22.3 ppg).
