SF FASTPITCH
Gainesville, FL – The FCSAA #8 Santa Fe Saints (3-1) open up at home against the defending state champion and current #1 ranked team State College of Florida (4-2) on Saturday in double header action starting at 1:00 PM. Fans can follow along on StatTracker here.
SF is off to a good start this season after a four game opener on January 26 at the JUCO Kickoff Classic. They won three against Gulf Coast State College, Chattanooga State and Pasco-Hernando CC and dropped just one game to Northwest Florida State College.
Two of the premier players in the country will square off when SF’s Karla Claudio, one of the top hitters in the NJCAA who is batting .750 through the first four games (9-for-12) steps in the box against SCF’s All-American pitcher Paige Matthews. Matthews is off to another solid start, posting a 2-1 record with a 1.17 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 24 innings.
