Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints took care of business on Thursday afternoon in their last Mid-Florida Conference double header of the season, defeating the Daytona State Falcons 7-2 and 12-4.  Karla Claudio paced SF in game one with two homeruns and five RBI.  The Saints (35-14, 20-4 MFC) ended game two in a mercy rule in the seventh on a three run homer by Celeste Bradshaw.

Santa Fe jumped ahead 2-0 early on in game two on a RBI single by Aileen Fiallo in the second inning and a RBI single by Claudio in the third.  The Falcons (25-25, 11-11 MFC) tied the score in the fourth inning but Claudio gave the Saints the lead again with a solo homerun in the fifth.

In the sixth inning the Saints busted the game open with four runs, including a three run homerun by Claudio.

Claudio finished game one 3-for-4 with two homeruns, five RBI and two runs scored.  She now has 12 homeruns and 41 RBI on the season.  Aileen Fiallo had a solid game at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a RBI and Galis Lozada was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Ashley Chapman started in the circle and tossed 3.1 innings before giving way to eventual winner Amber Maxey, who threw the remaining 3.2 innings and was the pitcher of record.

In game two the Saints again scored first, plating four two out runs in the fourth led by a bases clearing double from Megan McDonald and a double by Bradshaw.  SF kept the rally going in the fifth, scoring four more on RBI by Sid Masso and Rachel Hoeft.

McDonald drove in another run in the sixth and Bradshaw put an exclamation point on the victory with a three run homerun to end the game in a mercy rule.

Ashley Chapman earned the win in game two.

Sid Masso finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored and a RBI, Megan McDonald was 1-for-3 with four RBI, and Bradshaw finished 2-for-4 with four RBI.

SF rounds out the regular season with double headers against Hillsborough CC in Tampa on April 25 and against Chipola College in Gainesville on April 27.
