Santa Fe College did an amazing job of representing our commitment to excellence at the 64th annual AFC convention in Orlando Nov. 13 – 15, where 23 SF members were in attendance.
SF’s Dan Rodkin was elected AFC President-elect for the state office. Congratulations Dan! He won by a narrow margin of 4 votes.
Other awards and practices from the convention include:
- Communications and Creative Services received five first-place and five second-place awards for excellence from the Communications and Marketing Commission.
- Construction and Technical Programs won the exemplary/business partnership from the Occupational and Workforce Education Commission where Justin MacDougall Apprenticeship Coordinator, Professor Kurt Strauss, Building Construction Management Technology and Jane Parkin, Director of Construction and Technical Programs presented our collaborative work on the Habitat for Humanity homes that our students have built.
- Aminah Nichols and Darrius Demps presented MBK’s student for a day for the Equity Commission.
- Bill Reese presented for Best Practice award for the Facilities Commission and was presented with an Award of Merit.
