Santa Fe College students, faculty and staff teamed up to sponsor the “wishes” of 50 area foster care kids through Partnership for Strong Families this holiday season. The gift drive began in November at the Wish Upon a Star 2014 Kick Off event held in the SF College Art Gallery and culminated in the delivery of nearly 200 items selected especially for the recipients, ages 2 months to 18 years.
Gifts provided included toys, clothing, bikes, electronics and gift cards to area stores.
Isabelle Wasilewski, a Journalism major from New Port Richey, Fla., and one of five SF College students delivering the gifts to the
PSFS collection held at Northwest Baptist Church in northwest Gainesville, echoed the sentiment of her fellow sponsors, saying, “It feels really good to give!”
