SF FASTPITCH

Gainesville, FL – Playing for the second day in a row, the Santa Fe Saints again struggled to get their bats going in game one of a double header against Tallahassee CC, a day after scoring just one combined run in two games against St. Petersburg College.

SF (4-4) dropped the first half of the double dip 2-1 on a late seventh inning run by the Eagles, but bounced back to claim game two with a 3-1 victory.

Maddy Peres pitched admirably in game one, but for the second day came out on the losing end despite a great effort.

In game two, the Saints struck first, scoring a run in the bottom of the second.  TCC answered right back with a run in the second and things remained tied until the fourth when SF plated two runs to take the 3-1 lead.  That was all the support starter Ashley Chapman would need as she picked up the win and Amber Maxey earned the save in relief.

The two teams will meet back up for another double header in Tallahassee on Tuesday, February 18 at 4:00 PM.
