The Santa Fe Saints finished their trip south the same way they started yesterday against Miami Dade, taking the first game of a double header with Broward College 7-5 before dropping the second one 6-5.
Connor Rooney tossed a complete game in the first half of the double dip, going seven innings, scattering seven hits while allowing five runs, three of them earned. He struck out two and walked just one.
The Saints (7-7) scored two in the second inning, two in the third on a two RBI single by Payson Smith, two more in the fourth on a homerun by Brady Roberson and a single run in the sixth on a RBI groundout by Roger Gonzalez.
Casey Scoggins was 2-for-4, Brady Roberson finished 2-for-4 with a homerun and Gonzalez was 2-for-3.
Jimmy Moore started game two on the hill and pitched 5.2 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits with four strikeouts and no walks.
SF took a 5-4 lead into the bottom of the seventh, but the Seahawks were able to get to Santa Fe closer Jeremy Graf for two runs to pull off the come from behind win.
Colby Lusignan led the offense, going 2-for-3 with a two run homerun.
The Saints return home on Monday, February 24 for a game against Hillsborough CC at 3 p.m.
