Gainesville, FL – Seminole State scored four runs in the first inning off Santa Fe starter Jimmy Moore, and never looked back in 9-3 Mid-Florida Conference on Friday afternoon in Gainesville. The loss drops the Saints to 11-8 overall and 1-1 in MFC play.
The Raiders struck early, plating four runs on four hits and a costly Santa Fe error. They added one in the fourth and another in the fifth to go ahead 5-0. Santa Fe made things interesting with three runs in the fifth, but couldn’t get on the board again as SSC added two insurance runs in the seventh and one in the ninth.
Seminole outhit the Saints 17-4 and scored nine despite leaving 14 on base.
George Ragsdale was the lone Saint with multiple hits, finishing 2-for-4.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday, March 8 in Sanford at 1:00 PM. Follow along on Dakstats Game Tracker.
