Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints made quick work out of the Miami University Hamilton Harriers on Wednesday afternoon, winning 8-0 in five innings behind a 4-for-4 performance from Rachel Hoeft and a 3-for-3 effort from Sid Masso.
Ashley Chapman (3-3) started in the circle and pitched a scheduled two innings to pick up the win. She struck out five and allowed just one hit before turning the ball over Ashley Rey. Rey pitched the final three innings, striking out two.
The Saints (19-16, 7-3 MFC) scored one in the first on a bases loaded walk, two more in the second on a RBI single by Hoeft and a Harrier error, one in the fourth, and four in the fifth. Amber Maxey forced the mercy rule with a two RBI, walk off double.
Hoeft finished the day 4-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored, Sid Masso was 3-for-3 with four runs scored and a RBI, and Erin Marsh was 1-for-2 with two runs scored.
Santa Fe travels to Daytona State on Thursday, March 27 for a doubleheader against the Falcons starting at 4:00 PM.
