Daytona, FL – The Santa Fe pitchers were lights out on Thursday night, bringing their A games on the road in a matchup of the top two teams in the Mid-Florida Conference.  The victories give SF (21-16, 9-3 MFC) a two game lead over Daytona State (26-9, 9-5 MFC) in the race for the MFC crown at the half way point in the conference schedule.

Maddy Peres started game one and blanked the Falcons through seven innings.  Rachel Hoeft knocked in the lone run with a hard shot that scored Sid Masso.

In game two, Amber Maxey picked up where Peres left off, dominating Daytona over seven strong innings.  Sf scored one run on a hit and the other came on a Falcon error.

Santa Fe will look to continue their hot streak on Saturday, March 29 when St. John’s River State College comes to Gainesville for a double header scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM.
