April 11, 2018 – Deb Mills will be retiring from Santa Fe College Friday, April 20, 2018. There will be a celebration for her nearly 30 years of service to the college Wednesday, April 18, from 2 until 3:30 p.m. at the UF@SF Center.
Mills started her career at SF in 1991 as a bookstore clerk and within six months was able to transition to the Financial Aid office. During her time at SF, Mills has worked in virtually every facet of financial aid, from the front desk, to verification, to becoming a financial aid specialist to her current position as Administrative Assistant to the Director.
Mills calls her coming retirement “bittersweet” because she has loved the opportunity to help the students and interact with her work family. In retirement, she plans on being active with her seven grandchildren, hiking and kayaking. She also plans to travel, including taking a trip to California to finally meet a long-lost cousin.
