Active Threat Training Tonight at Building O

July 24, 2018 – The Santa Fe College Police Department will be conducting training exercises Tuesday, July 24, 2018, between approximately 5-9 p.m. at the Charles R. Perry Construction Institute (Building O) on the Northwest Campus. Signs, barricades, and cones will mark the area. In order for the training to be safe and secure, it will NOT be open to the public or bystanders. Officers Sarah Smith and Joel Pearson will be conducting the scenario-based training using volunteer students from the SF Fine Arts program and SF Student Government. SF’s Institute of Public Safety and the SF Trauma Response Team’s (TRT) trained college counseling staff will also be practicing how to assist the college community, following any traumatic college event. This professional development is part of continuing efforts to ensure effective safe police response in the event of an active threat.
