Santa Fe College Earns Highest Performance Rating from State

July 24, 2018 – Santa Fe College is leading its 27 peers in the Florida College System. With high graduation rates, a steadily increasing retention rate, and a job placement rate over 96 percent, SF earned the state’s highest “gold” performance rating and will receive nearly four million dollars of performance-based funding for the 2018-2019 academic year.

“There is no better news than student success,” said SF president Dr. Jackson Sasser. “We congratulate our students and remain grateful to the faculty and staff who commit their lives each day to excellence in learning for all students.”

The annual evaluation at the state level determines which colleges will receive a portion of an available $60 million, and includes matching state funding with institutional funds.  SF will receive $2.85 million new, nonrecurring funds from the state, which when matched with recurring base funds from the college will yield $3.98 million.

The Florida College System reviews data over a three-year time frame, including 2015 when SF was named the winner of the  Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. The Aspen Prize, an honor bestowed by the Aspen Institute every two years, is the nation’s signature recognition of high achievement and performance among America’s 1,462 community colleges.
