I lost my cousin, her baby and her fiancé on December 12, 2017. They were murdered inside their home. My cousin always told me, ‘You’re going to do great things in life. You just have to stay focused.’ Because of her, I can’t stop what I’m doing. I couldn’t save her, but by being a nurse, I can help save others. Before that, my mother and father were incarcerated. My mother was taken out of my life for six years. I had to grow up without a blueprint for life for six years. No one told me and my sisters what to do. We had to guess it all out. So I’m going to open a nonprofit organization called Blueprint, Inc. to teach people the way. I want to create an organization that will help people. I’ve been through bad, but it’s made me appreciate the good. I’m always happy, I’m always bubbly, because I love people, and I love life. I’m only 20 years old, and I’m pretty sure I have a lot of life left to live. Life is too beautiful and too short. My cousin didn’t get a long time, but I figure, even if I only have one year left, I’m going to make it the best year of my life.
