October 14, 2019 – “Run with the Cops” will be celebrating its fifth year at Santa Fe College. This year’s event will be held Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, beginning at 9 a.m. at the SF track.
It will be a morning of fun and fitness open to the entire community “Run With The Cops” supports those in our area with special needs. Participants can run, walk or roll along the track with law enforcement officers from area agencies. They can get an up-close look at police and fire rescue vehicles, learn important safety tips, and have the opportunity to meet and interact with the members of law enforcement who protect and serve our community. Publix and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will be on hand as well helping participants fuel up before they get moving.
SFPD Police Chief Ed Book says the event gives the community the opportunity to interact with regional law enforcement officials and to see them as allies, not adversaries. The event is held to promote safety, security, health and wellness at Santa Fe College.
The event is sponsored in part by Santa Fe College Alumni and Friends as well as Alachua 10-42, an organization dedicated to being a positive and supportive voice for local law enforcement and their families.
