January 16, 2020 – The Saints women’s basketball team turned a six-point halftime lead into a 21-point win with an 84-63 non-conference victory over St. Petersburg College Wednesday night in Gainesville.

The Saints outscored the Titans 26-16 in the pivotal third period with Rosalee Nicholson scoring seven of her season-high 16 points in that stanza.

“I feel we executed some things on both ends of the court that we haven’t consistently gotten done,” said SF head coach Chanda Stebbins. “We did a better job of paying attention to details.”

Sophomore Chardell Jones also scored her season-high with 21 points for the Saints to lead all scorers.

“Chardell did a great job of outworking everyone out there,” said Stebbins. “It was good to see that effort from her again.”

The Saints win avenges a three-point loss to the Titans in St. Petersburg last month and evens their record at 10-10 overall and 1-1 in the Mid-Florida Conference.

Danasia Bogle scored 11 points for the Saints while Yaire Rodriguez registered four assist and eight steals and Taniah Bowers had six assists.

“I’m proud of how hard we worked and hope we can build off this when we head up to Jacksonville Saturday,” said Stebbins.

The Saints will face Florida State College at Jacksonville in an MFC matchup set to tip off at 2 p.m.
