Third Week of SF’s Focus on Wellness Begins Wednesday, May 13

May 12, 2020 – While we are all social distancing, staying home and focused on health, safety and our wellbeing, SF’s Human Resources is providing links to a variety of benefits-related topics. HR is also holding a contest surrounding participation in at least 2 wellness-related activities each week.

In order to qualify for contest prizes at the conclusion of the four-week contest, you must participate in two activities each week. One will be choosing from the list of the scheduled events and the other is performing some type of physical activity. The physical activity may be walking, participating in a workout video, horseback riding, swimming, gardening, running, lifting weights or any other form of physical activity and will be confirmed via a selfie. Please remember, we recommend that you consult your physician or other health care professionals before engaging in or increasing any kind of exercise. You still have until Wednesday, May 13, to complete the Week 2 activities.

Once you have completed the scheduled event and your physical activity for the week, send your selfie and confirmation of the completed event by email to Human.Resources@sfcollege.edu.  Eligible participants will be entered into a drawing at the end of our Focus on Wellness event.

WEEK 3: MENTAL WELLNESS

  1. Stress – Stress affects your health
  2. Coping with Coronavirus – Find it in the Well Santa Fe Team on Teams
  3. EAP – Log into our EAP provider, New Directions for resources on dealing with day to day stress. Check out one of the following resources they offer:
    • Stress toolkit
    • Realization techniques
    • The benefits of mindfulness
    • Finding balance, 8 secrets

Combined with your chosen physical activity like walking, running, working out, swimming, gardening, etc. that you will confirm by sending a selfie to human.resources@sfcollege.edu.
