Santa Fe College Mourns the Loss of Angie Siekers

Angie Siekers

October 28, 2020 – On Tuesday, Oct. 20, the Santa Fe College family lost a good friend and retired colleague. Angie Siekers unexpectedly passed away in the early morning hours surrounded by family. The Academic Affairs, President and Vice President’s Suite areas mourn her passing; she worked with and among all of us. Angie’s absence will leave an enormous hole in her family and friends’ world.

Angie joined the SF family in March 2004 and was a vital support for Anne Kress, Curtis Jefferson, Dave Yonutas, Stefanie Waschull, Jodi Long, and Vilma Fuentes. She also assisted the unit aides and many students who she placed in units over the years. Angie was also involved in Career Service Council, Saints Sharewear, new faculty orientation, Research on Undergraduate Education and a host of other college activities.

Following the death of her husband, Angie retired in May 2016 and moved to join her family in South Florida. During the ensuing years she often traveled to Gainesville to reconnect with friends and colleagues.

We mourn her passing and are joined by many at Santa Fe College who were enriched from having worked with her and from being her friend. There will be a celebration of life service in the coming months.
