SF Period Panel Provides Free Feminine Products

SF Period Panel Provides Free Feminine Products

April 27, 2022 – Free menstrual products are now available across Santa Fe College’s Northwest Campus and all SF centers after the instillation of dispensers in bathrooms.

The products are available through a college-wide effort to ensure students have access to menstrual products in the case of emergencies. Students are encouraged to take only what they need.

Research shows that 86% of women have started their period unexpectedly in public without the supplies that they need. These machines are an effort to meet the needs of our student population. The Period Panel, founded in 2019 by then Student Body President Kate Santacruz, then Vice President/CFO Ginger Gibson, and Vice President for Student Affairs Naima Brown and is made up of staff members who represent various departments across campus.
