Gallery Show Features Works of Ernest M. Lee

Painting by Artist Ernest M. Lee, featured in Santa Fe College Art Gallery in May-June 2022.

May 13, 2022 – Tonight, Santa Fe College Fine Arts and Entertainment Technology Department welcomes the community to come out to the opening reception for “The Best Is Yet To Come: The Works of Mr. Ernest M. Lee” from 6 – 9 p.m., in the Santa Fe College Gallery, Bldg. M on the Northwest Campus. This free event celebrates the life and work of folk artist Ernest M. Lee.

Lee was known for his work depicting moments in time from his childhood, featuring landscapes and everyday scenes that harken back to memories from another era. He was sometimes referred to as the van Gogh of Florida, due to the use of bold colors and heavy impasto techniques.

The exhibit will be on display May 16 – June 17 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday -Friday. Admission to the SF Gallery is free and open to the public.
