SF Sustainable Student Art Competition Opens March 27

February 7, 2023—The Sustainable Student Art Competition is kicking off its 11th year of exciting and unique exhibits made by students that are composed almost entirely of reused, repurposed and recycled materials.

“This is always a dynamic show featuring surprising themes and use of materials that would often be considered trash. It’s incredible to see the things that can be given a second life through the creativity of our students,” remarked Kyle Novak, art gallery manager.

“My favorite part of the competition is seeing how students transform discarded materials into pieces of art.”

The exhibit will run from March 27 to April 7 in the Santa Fe College Gallery. Submissions are accepted from March 20 to March 21. The show is open to all currently enrolled Santa Fe College.

A group of the Visual Art Faculty will judge the submitted work. We also have a “Viewer’s Choice” category where Gallery visitors choose their favorite piece.
