The competition gives students the opportunity to apply skills learned in the classroom to a real construction company by completing a management project/proposal. Proposals are submitted to a group of construction company executives who act as judges.

“I am impossibly proud of our Santa Fe students that went to Las Vegas and placed in the top three in a very competitive field of two-year colleges. Each of them worked so hard all through the Fall to create the deliverables and were determined to represent our College with excellence. This group had experiences and made memories that will be with them for life” remarked Kevin Bennett, Assistant Professor of Building Construction Technology at SF.

The last time SF students placed in this competition was in 1999. The students who attended the show were Bess Granholm, Connor Tootle, Nevan Burney, Sina Abbaszadeh, Sophia Petrandis, Trenton Smeal, Tanner Spell, and Jasmine Bostick. They were accompanied by Construction Professors Kevin Bennett and Justin MacDougall.
