May 22, 2023 – Santa Fe College will be closed Monday, May 29, 2023, in honor of Memorial Day. There will be no classes held, however, the SF Teaching Zoo will be open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., last entry at 2:30 p.m. and the SFPD will, as always, be operational.
Memorial Day is a federal holiday established in 1868, to pay respect to those who lost their lives serving in the country’s armed forces. The holiday was observed on May 30, from its inception until 1970. In 1971, the observance of Memorial Day was moved to the final Monday of May.
Classes and standard business operations at SF will resume Tuesday, May 30, at 8 a.m.
