Provost Finalist Candidate Withdraws

Provost Finalist Candidate Withdraws

May 22, 2023 – Dr. Irene Rios, one of three finalists to become Santa Fe College’s next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs has withdrawn her name from consideration.

SF’s Director of Human Resources, Lela Frye, sent the following message to the college community on Monday, May 22.

Dear SF Faculty and Staff,

We wanted to provide you with a quick update regarding our Provost Search Finalists.

We were notified by Dr. Irene Rios that she is withdrawing from consideration at this time due to personal responsibilities for the care of an elderly family member that will prevent her from being able to continue in our search process. I am certain that we can all appreciate what a difficult decision that would be and respect her need to focus on family.

The search process continues to move forward with Dr. Broadie working to complete his portion of the process, which includes speaking with multiple references regarding each finalist. We will continue to keep you updated as the Provost search nears conclusion.
