Upcoming Summer Camps Still Accepting Applications

The Entrepreneurship Summer Camp, Monday, June 5 through Friday, June 9 for grades 9 through 12 at the Andrews Center in Starke, FL.

This camp is dedicated to high school students in Bradford County to develop exciting new business ideas in a safe and nurturing environment. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to come and learn how to turn an idea into a business while having lots of fun and engaging in interactive entrepreneurship skills. Activities include team building, developing a business plan, competing in a team pitch contest, and more. The registration deadline has been extended to Thursday, May 25.

College for Kid STEM Camp, Monday, June 12 through Friday, June 16, for ages 10 to 14 at the Perry Center for Emerging Technologies in Alachua, FL.

This STEM focused camp offers morning, afternoon or full day options. Mornings will focus on using a variety of mediums you will construct models of famous landmarks from history. In this class, put on your engineering hats to design, build and test your engineering creations! In the afternoons campers can test some of today’s most popular myths using the scientific method. Through clever and creative means, learn how to prove or disprove common theories about the physical world. Explore the science behind the reactions and ultimately, help us decide whether it is “truth” or “fiction”!

For this camp CFK has been awarded funding by Children ́s Trust of Alachua County (CTAC) and will be able to offer a limited number of scholarships. The CTAC, a special district created by Alachua County voters in 2018, funds and supports a coordinated system of community services that allows all youth and their families to thrive.

 2023 Earth/Wind/Fire/Water STEM Summer Camp, Monday, June 26 through Thursday, June 29 for rising 9th graders. This camp meets at multiple locations during the week, Monday through Thursday campers will be at the Perry Center for Emerging Technologies and Thursday they will be at the SAnta Fe College Northwest Campus.

This camp includes activities like building and launching rockets, creating 3D printing designs, solving crimes with the latest DNA technology and more. Students will also explore the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo, Construction Institute, Fine Arts Hall and Health Science programs. All applications for the College for Kids camps are due by Wednesday, May 31, 2023. Students will be notified by email if they have been selected by Friday, June 9, 2023.
