Stop, Collaborate and Grow: Fine Arts’ New Initiative

SF Dance students practice using fog and lights

October 4, 2023 – Teamwork is more than partnering with others to achieve a common goal. It’s about generating excitement and creating experiences.

If you’re searching for synergy in action, you’ll find it in Santa Fe College’s Fine Arts and Entertainment Technology programs.

A departmental goal going forward, each area will unite to highlight the creativity of students and faculty. For instance, Dance and Digital Media recently combined their talents for a motion capture session. Just in time for the spooky season, four dancers impersonated skeletons in the Virtual Production Studio. Look for the creepy results in the near future!

Another recent collaboration finds Dance and Graphic Design joining forces to create a one-time-only apparel logo for the Dance Theatre of Santa Fe.

Witnessing the fusion of Fine Arts and Entertainment Technology’s different areas is nothing like participating. Actualizing ideas with talented artists opens new doors to growth and success.

The proof?

Look at where two SF graduates are now: Candace Rhodes is in the national touring production of Come from Away. Meanwhile, Terrence Williams Jr. is in the off-Broadway production of Titanique.

The future is filled with possibilities. Will we see a groundbreaking project that involves every Fine Arts and Entertainment Technology department? Or maybe a collaboration with another SF program of study? The opportunities are nearly endless.
