November 30, 2023 – The Santa Fe College Model United Nations Team participated in the 34th annual Southern Regional Model UN Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. On Nov. 16-18, students from across the region debated solutions to global challenges including:
- Debt loads of underdeveloped countries
- Reclassification of plastics
- Security in central Africa
- The protection of educational access in conflict zones
The SF MUN Team, representing the countries of Ghana and Indonesia, brought home six awards. Both Ghana and Indonesia won Overall Outstanding Position Paper Awards and Distinguished Delegation Awards. The Indonesian Delegation won Best Delegate in the General Assembly and Ghana won Best Delegate in the World Trade Organization.
