December 11, 2023 – The Santa Fe Saints Women’s basketball team’s first conference game this season didn’t go as expected.
Last Saturday, the Saints visited the Indian River State College Pioneers. Despite taking control in the first quarter, the Saints slowly trailed behind the home team and never regained momentum. The Pioneers defeated the Saints 81-62.
“Fortunately,” Saints Head Coach Russ Jackson said, “it’s the first conference game and we have a quick turnaround so there’s no time to hang our heads, only time to prepare for our next opponent.”
The Saints’ next opponents are the Eastern Florida State College Titans. That road game happens Monday, Dec. 11 at 5:30 p.m. The Saints return home Wednesday, Dec. 13 to host the Daytona State College Falcons.
