Run, Hide, Fight: Stay Safe at Santa Fe College

January 12, 2024 – The Santa Fe College Police Department (SFPD) provides several services to students, faculty and staff to promote safety at the college. However, safety is a shared responsibility.

Run, Hide, Fight

The college offers safety information through the SF Safety and Risk Management webpage, including the college’s Emergency Procedures that include a six-minute video called “Run, Hide, Fight.” Trying to get yourself out of harm’s way needs to be your number one priority. The video covers what you should do if there is an active shooter event.

See Something, Say Something

The SFPD reminds the college community to report any suspicious activity through their See Something, Say Something initiative. If you see behavior that indicates a potential for violence or threatens anyone at SF or on SF property, please dial 911 or call the Santa Fe College Police Department immediately at 352-395-5555.

What Else Can You Do?

Students should make sure their Emergency Contact information is accurate through eSantaFe. SF employees can verify their information in eStaff. The SFPD also recommends downloading the Safe Santa Fe app for emergency notices and other important safety information.

The SFPD, located in Building T on the Northwest Campus, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. If you need to contact the SFPD for an emergency situation, call 352-395-5555 or dial 911. For any other police business or a nonemergency, you can call 352-395-5519.
