January 17, 2024 – The Santa Fe Saints Men’s basketball team hosted the #23 ranked team in the country (NJCAA) last Saturday. While the Saints were coming off a loss against Daytona State College, the Eastern Florida State College Titans sought to continue their winning ways.
The Saints closely trailed the Titans in the first half, but the guests ran away in the second. Eastern Florida State College won 92-79.
“It was a hard-fought game by both teams today,” Saints Head Coach Chris Mowry said. “Eastern Florida is a top 25 team in the country, and they played like it. We played a great first half offensively, really shared the ball and shot it well. We didn’t shoot quite as well in the second half but continued to battle on both ends. We needed to be better on defense in both halves to come out on top against such a good team.”
The Saints’ next challenge: Hillsborough Community College on Jan. 17 in Tampa.
