Water Boil Notice Remains in Effect at SF’s Northwest Campus

Santa Fe College's Clock Tower on the Northwest Campus.

January 23, 2024 – Water pressure was restored to the Northwest Campus shortly after midnight. The college remains under a boil water notice until further notice. Students, faculty and staff should not drink any water from water fountains, faucets or hose bibs on campus until the college receives word that the water is again potable.

Although water pressure has been restored, some bathroom facilities will have turbulence because of air in the plumbing lines. Anyone who uses a facility that has trouble with flushing toilets should notify a staff member immediately and a work order should be filed with Facilities Services.

The college has provided some bottled water in Building S and the first floor of the Administration Building (Building F). There will also be water available during the Club Rush event from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Oak Grove. There is a limited amount of water in coolers in Building R, however you will need your own cup or bottle to obtain that water.

The college expects to continue standard operations throughout today and into tomorrow, however the boil water notice may continue into Wednesday morning. Students and employees should make any necessary preparations as a precaution.

The college’s Emergency Management Team will be meeting this afternoon and another update will be posted at 3 p.m. on the SF Alerts page.
