February 5, 2024 – The 2024 Saints Women’s Softball season at home began with a doubleheader on Saturday. They hosted the Florida State College at Jacksonville BlueWave at the SF Softball Field.
The first game began with the BlueWave snatching the lead in the first inning. The Saints fought back to tie the score in the fourth. A last-minute grand slam in the bottom of the seventh propelled the Saints to victory, winning 8-4.
The second game was not as nail-biting, but it was still thrilling for Saints’ fans. This time, the Saints grabbed the early lead in the first two innings and would not let go. Santa Fe College won 10-4.
“It was good to see new people step up and come up big for us today,” Saints Head Coach Savanah Webster said.
Up next: The Saints will be on the road against St. Johns River State College on Feb. 6.
